The International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union) will hold a training course, TB-HIV Clinical Management Course, from 22-26 May 2017, in Singapore.
The TB-HIV Clinical Management Course aims to improve diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis among people living with HIV and introduces the 12 points components of the country-level implementation of collaborative TB-HIV activities.
This course is designed for national AIDS and tuberculosis programme managers and staff, national programme officers and other health professionals working in clinical and programmatic settings, especially in settings where HIV infection drives tuberculosis.
Course Objectives:
Introduce diagnosis of HIV infection in tuberculosis services and tuberculosis in HIV care and treatment
Discuss quality care and treatment of tuberculosis among people living with HIV
Review the public health approach to collaborative TB-HIV services and the policy framework
Strengthen the role of patients and the community in strengthening TB-HIV collaboration
Accreditation:
Clinical and Operational Management Course participants are eligible to earn continuing education units (CEUs) and continuing medical education (CMEs). The Clinical and Operational Management Courses are accredited by both the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and the European Board for Accreditation in Pneumology (EBAP).
