The International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union) will hold the International Course on Multidrug-Resistant Tuberculosis, from 24-28 April 2017, in Douala, Cameroon. The course will be taught in French.
This course aims to convey knowledge and skills for the management of Multidrug-Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB), in particular by using a short treatment regimen of 9 months. The course will also introduce elements concerning the management of Ultra-resistant Tuberculosis.
Course Objectives:
The principles of treatment, prevention and control of tuberculosis
• Mechanisms in the onset of Multidrug-Resistant Tuberculosis
• Clinical presentation, diagnosis and strategy for screening for multidrug-resistant tuberculosis
• The usefulness and limitations of sensitivity tests
• Treatment of Multiresistant Tuberculosis The course is aimed at general practitioners or specialists (pneumologists / infectiologists) working in clinics, hospitals and National Tuberculosis Programs.
